Our Mission:

Save Our Shores Saco Bay is a non-profit advocacy group committed to the restoration and preservation of our shoreline and its natural beauty. We publicize the issues that are causing the steady erosion of our beaches and move government to act for everyone with a stake in the Saco Bay coastline.

SOS is strategic, hard working and believes in transparency. We need to solve this problem responsibly together: government, scientists and citizens. We urge everyone to join us and continue to work for solutions to maintain our beaches and safeguard our coast. Over a hundred feet of beach and 38 homes have been lost in Saco alone. The cause, the Saco River Jetty was built 155 years ago by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who have admitted guilt.

It is time for action to put an end to this tragedy. Doing nothing is unacceptable and the most expensive solution of all.
